Physical Education
"Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity."
Subject Overview:
A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed
values such as fairness and respect.
Our intent:
- To give all children access to a broad, engaging and challenging PE curriculum that inspires them to lead an active, healthy and competitive lifestyle – both in school, in their wider community and in life
- Children will be excited and energised by their PE lessons. They will enjoy challenge, push their limits and not fear failure, instead recognising it as a chance to learn and evolve
- To ensure that children leave school as well-rounded athletes. They are able to apply and adapt the physical, social and emotional skills necessary to be successful competitors in a range of sports and activities
