We welcome all parents and the wider community to take a tour around our school to see what fantastic facilities we have to offer.
Our admissions limit for Early Years is 60 places. To apply for a place in Reception (Early Years Foundation Stage), parents should in the first instance contact Derby City Council Admissions Team. Applications to Reception year are open from November to January in the preceding year.
Derby City Council will process your application and you will be notified of the outcome on National Offer Day which is in the April of the year your child will start school.

If you are not offered a place at Zaytouna Primary in reception, you have the right to appeal, the closing date to lodge your appeal is Friday 17th May 2024.
Appeals after the closing date can still be processed and heard, however they may not be a part of the block hearings and may be scheduled at a later date.

To apply for a place in Year 1 to Year 6, parents should in the first instance contact Miss Yasmeen at the school on 01332 383379.
To apply for school place in Year 1 to Year 6 the school requires parents to complete our admission application form. Once received the school will process your application and you will be notified of the outcome by letter within 15 school days, which will detail the decision and information about the right to appeal if refused.
If we are able to offer a place to your child we aim to enroll your child as soon as possible. Places cannot be reserved.
The school Pupil Admission Number (PAN) is 420 (maximum children on roll), and we are operating a waiting list. We will notify parents as soon as possible should a place become available, following the schools oversubscription criteria. The over subscription criteria is contained in our Admissions Policy.
Zaytouna Primary School will notify the Local Authority of every application and its outcome, to allow the Local Authority to keep up to date figures on the availability of places in the area to ensure awareness of any children who may not have a school place.

The Governors of Zaytouna Primary School are responsible for offering or refusing places at the school.
The proposed admission arrangements for 2026/27 are open for consultation Wednesday 16th October, closing on Wednesday 29th November.
