Association of Muslim Schools (AMS)
The first Muslim school in the UK, Darul Uloom Al-Arabiya Al-Islamia, opened in 1979 in Bury, Lancashire. Since then there has been a steady increase in demand and growth of Muslim schools, with Islamia Primary School in London becoming the first Muslim school to receive state funding in 1997.
Zaytouna are proud to be affiliated with the Association of Muslim Schools (AMS), who support us in our Qur’anic and Islamic Studies provision.

Furthermore, the Association of Muslim School conduct Section 48 School Inspections – which all faith schools are required to have by law.
