Safina Rauf

Hello, my name is Mrs Rauf and I teach in The Ark, as well as being the Lead for Enrichment across the school. Enrichment is important to everyone at Zaytouna because alongside our fantastic curriculum, our pupils are gaining the skills and experiences that will prepare them for life beyond their primary years.

I joined the teaching profession because I wanted to make a difference to children’s lives and inspire the next generation. I believe that anything is possible with hard work, determination and resilience.

I trained at Nottingham Trent University where I did my BA (hons) Education degree and then studied at the University of Derby and completed my PGCE (5-11) specialising in English (with QTS).

My favourite subject is English, I love reading and writing and getting lost in different worlds and letting my imagination run wild. My favourite author is Roald Dahl and my favourite book is Matilda. I love reading it time and time again. When I was younger I used to go to my local library after school every day and was a massive bookworm, just like Matilda.

During my spare time, I enjoy watching The Great British Bake Off, going on scary rides at theme parks and exploring the outdoors with my children, who are junior Scouts.

The person that I would most like to meet is Bear Grylls. I would love to ask him how he can be so fearless and brave and also how can he eat such disgusting creepy crawlies!!
