I have been teaching since 2010 when I graduated from the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff with a First Class BA (Hons) in Secondary Education with QTS.
From a very early age, I wanted to be a teacher to ensure children developed the same love for education as I did. My main passion for teaching lies with its ability to affect social change and social mobility.
I took up my first teaching post in September 2010 in a secondary school in Neath Port Talbot, where I was Head of Drama and Performing Arts and also taught English and Welsh.
After three years, I moved from South Wales to Nottingham where I took up post as Teaching and Learning Leader at Brocklewood Primary School.
Whilst at Brocklewood, I was also Curriculum Leader and Upper Key Stage 2 Leader before becoming Assistant Headteacher.
In my spare time, I love to run. My favourite distance is 10k but I often runs half marathons.
An avid reader, I prefer to read non-fiction (particularly education books) but also loves children fiction. I couldn’t possibly choose his favourite book as there are so many… at the moment, it has to be “A Pinch of Magic”.
You may be interested to know that I have made several TV appearances in programmes such as Coronation Street, Dr. Who, Casualty and The Sarah Jane Adventures.
