Great start to the year

What a fabulous first couple of weeks we have had! All our children are looking incredibly smart in their brand new uniforms and your feedback on them has been really positive and gratefully received.

If you have any outstanding uniform queries then please pop into school and ask at the office.

It was establishment week last week where we’ve been setting expectations for all that is to come as we start a new year. We’re really looking forward to all the enrichment that will be happening and so kicked the year off this week as we mean to go on with children participating in a range of sporting activities. These have included: yoga, fencing, meditation, drumming, circus skills and speed kicks. As a school we’re committed to physical activity and the positive impact this has on healthy minds and bodies and so you’ll be seeing much more of this. On this note, you’ll see that our brand new sports facilities are coming along nicely. I’m sure you’ll agree that these are going to be amazing and I know that our children cannot wait to put them to use.

Thanks for your patience as the building work continues.

New Curriculum

Over the last few months, we’ve completely redesigned our curriculum so that it is exciting, progressive and allows our children to fall in love with their learning. Each year group have now started their new enterprises. We can’t wait to talk to you and show you more about this over the next year so watch this space for more information coming out.

Our QIS team have been busy developing their new schemes of learning for Qu’ranic, Islamic and Arabic studies. We really are leading from the front in this area and are proud to offer something different from other schools in the area. Supporting our children in developing and strengthening their faith is an absolute priority of ours.

Meet the Teacher

A big thank you to everyone who attended our ‘Meet the teacher’ event this week. It was a pleasure to have you in school and we hope that you were impressed with all the hard work that has gone into enhancing our learning environment.

This is the start of a very exciting project! I am absolutely thrilled to be headteacher at Zaytouna and cannot wait to walk this journey alongside you all as we become a school of excellence.

As-salamu alaykum
